Hello dear aspirant,
IAS is something, which a person from any background can aspire for. It is a very honourable and a reputed job too. As we know "Good things never come that easy" you have to work for an IAS job.
1. First complete your 12th with good grades (grades does not matter much).
2.Complete your graduation in an Indian college (grades does not matter moch). Getting degree is important, what coarse you take up does not matter.
3.Prepare for preliminary exams (now this is very important).
4.If you qualify preliminary exams then, you have to attend main examination.
5.If you qualify main examination then, you have to attend an interview.
6.if you qualify the interview too, you become an IAS!
Hope above provided information helped you.
All the best!
Hey.
As you are in Class 12th and want to become an IAS officer, you need to complete any Undergraduation degree first to be eligible to take the IAS exam. You cant attempt it directly after class 12th. You can attempt the exam in the final year of your degree hence you cant start it's preparation during you degree too. There are three stages in an IAS exam- Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination and Personal Interview. The Prelims exam will include General Knowledge and Aptitude. You need to clear the prelims in order to qualify for the Mains exam. You need to choose one of the subject of your choice for the Mains paper. Hence you can choose any subject which you have an interest in. If you choose to pursue your UG degree in any science field, you can choose that too. Candidates who clear the Mains exam sit for the Interview. And the final selection is done on the basis of merit in mains exam as well as the Interview.
Best of luck
For ias after 12 you have to enroll yourself for any degree program. And your age should fall between defined age group for ias ...as for general it is 32 ....you can prepare for ias after your ug,pg .
All the best!!
