For BTech students in 2022 there are some essential and trending languages which will help them in getting better at their course and also in placements -
Python
Java
JavaScript
Kotlin
R
PHP
Go
C# and C
You should also try your hands on AI and Machine Learning. Although it is not specifically a language but knowing this domain will make your CV look better.
You can always learn these languages for free from YouTube or from online courses.
