You have decided your future goal at a very early age thats wonderful and I hope you will be successful to achieve that.

Now to be an IAS officer you have to give an examination name UPSC CSE. This is not only for IAS but is a common test for all the Group 'A' Gazetted officer posts in Government of India like IAS, IPS, IRS etc.

Now the minimum educational criteria for being in any of the service through UPSC CSE is to have a Bachelors degree in any field.

Now as you are in class 9 you have a lot of scope. You should emphasize on the subjects like History, Geography, English, General science etc which will be helpful in your UPSC attempts.

UPSC usually have three steps:

1. Prelims: This is a qualifying exam for the next level. Here they ask objective kind of question.
2. MAINS: After qualifying Prelims you have to sit for this exam. In this paper you will be asked descriptive type questions.
3. PERSONALITY TEST: In this test there will be a interview if you qualify the Mains.

You study your school curiculumn with sincerity because this will reduce the constrain in the UPSC examination. In your UG years start preparing for UPSC. This is the way when everyone starts the preparation.
