Hello aspirant
All degree holders in any stream of subjects are eligible for writing the IAS exams.You can do graduation in arts, science, engineering, medical, economics,commerce, literature etc or any of the course to apply for the exam. But as per the syllabus, you should have a proper command in these following subjects:
- History.
- Geography.
- Political Science / Civics.
- Economics.
- General Science - Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
- Environmental Science.
- Sociology.
- UPSC conducts a separate exam in 3 stages.Priliminaries, Mains and personality tests. Only if you succeed in all the stages, you can become an IAS officer
