Hi aspirant,
The choice of selecting either basic maths or standard maths were given before the starting of term 1 examinations. Since you have now attempted term 1 examination with basic maths you cannot change it till Term 2. However if you want to study mathematics in higher study it is still possible. You would need to appear for the compartment examinations for standard mathematics and pass the same for being eligible to study mathematics in higher standards.
Hope it helps!!
Hello, I hope you are doing well
Students who choose Basic Mathematics are not eligible to study Mathematics in upper classes, whereas students with Standard Mathematics can study this subject in higher classes.
The questions which are asked in Basic Math are much easier when compared with Standard Math. All questions of basic math can be attempted if a student pays proper attention to NCERT. Whereas, questions in Standard Math require higher order thinking skills.
If you have passed the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam with Basic Mathematics and want to change it to Standard Mathematics, you can do it after the declaration of the result, but you would have to fulfill a condition.
To change from Basic Math to Standard Math, a student must pass the Standard Math Sharing Test conducted by CBSE. After passing the Standard Mathematics Compartment Exam, students are eligible to study Mathematics in upper classes.
Hope this helps
