Hello deepa ,
Let's start with my real life experience.
First, There are many who always stand against the term 'Coaching' . But make sure Coaching for IITs and NIFT arent the same by anyway. So, Dont listen to those who compares this two.
Now, coming to the real life incident i was talking about.
One of my friend in class 12th was a brilliant artist and designer too! by Designer I mean, He had a great sense of design aptitude like which one to place where and all such.
So he dreamt of NID, NIFT and UCEED and all and he prepared them himself only without any coaching.
He used to study PCM in school. Took tuitions for passig the board exams and besides that he prrepared those quantitative aptitude questions. English etc.
You may ask anyone about the pressure of PCM/PCB of standard 12th. Its Huge!!!
So, first to cope up that pressure and again trying to score better in boards. apart from that preparing all those for NIFT NID which are out of league from your board syllabus isnt that easy.
Anyway you will have to do hard work whether you go for IITs or NIFT.
But the syllabus of preparationnwould be way different than your boards in case of NIFT.
So, to maintain your preparation standard you will need some motivation that would be provided the coaching.
Now coming to the story. Yes by self study my friend cleared NIFT but didnt get good colleges.
Next year hr dropped and joined an Institute and got AIR 35.
So, It isnt that you wont be able to clear but to get a great rank and colege. Its advisable to join one institute.
Hope that helps!
