Dear Vipal
I understand you concern that preparing for CAT and academics simultaneously can be a rigorous job. I would advice you to manage your time efficiently and prioritize your tasks. Please do not let go of college exams because of CAT. try to clear them and get a good score as it will help you in GDPI and call. ALso try to give some mocks at this point and obtain over 90 percentile considering your BCOM background can fetch you some decent calls.
Hi Vipal,
If you do not clear the graduation, you are not eligible for joining post gradution i.e MBA. However, to my understanding, every college has a supplementary exam for students who have failed certain courses. If your college has such exams, I suggest you take it at the earliest and clear your backlog. In this case, if your clear the backlog before admission, there will be no impact on study. Otherwise you may have to withdraw from MBA.
Also in some colleges it is about passing a minimum number of credits. That means you may fail one subject but the credits for subjects you passed cumulatively is greater than or equal to the minimum required limit for acquiring the B.Com degree. In this case, there will be no effect on your study.
Know Your Chances for getting Calls from IIMs & other Top MBA Colleges through CAT Percentile, based on your category, academic profile, work-ex & CAT result.
You should try to manage both CAT and Bachelor degree and compromise neither of them.
If you fail it will compromise not only your degree certificate but also you will have to justify for it in the MBA interviews or maybe Job interviews if you apply for them. So make sure you do not fail.
And keep working hard till you achieve it.
All the best.

If you fail in sem 5 and if according to your university policy you would not be able to get the degree then in that case you might have to face a problem. But if you are able to get minimum credits that your degree demands, then it won't be a problem till you maintain minimum 50% in graduation as it is the criteria for CAT.
Hey Vipal!
I believe you will be perfectly able to manage both your final semester in college and CAT exam. This is something, I and my Best friend has done and ended up landing into top ten B-schools in India. So, it's from my personal experience I am suggesting that you will be able to manage easily. Try to manage your time perfectly. Secondly, if you fail, your chances of getting in IIMABC is the least. As they prefer academic consistency. Moreover, in case you land into the PI round, you need to clarify your reason behind poor marks. So, prepare well and ace it. Just keep aside the negative and aim high.
Hello Vipal
You should have to maintain 55% on aggregate basis in order to appear for CAT exam. Moreover talking about impact on your studies so I would tell you to work on it if you have time in your hands. Dont be pessimistic about future, you can do well. If you have any problems share with your friends and take their help in your studies.
Don't lose hope it's too soon to accept your failure. Because a optimistic warrior and fight the battle with all your zeal.
Even if you have doubt regarding results then don't worry you can take CAT exam this year too. But make sure you clear your backlog next year else taking admission in B school with backlog would be risky. Though ýou are eligible to take the test.
Good luck for your career ahead.
Thanks
Hello Vipal,
Eligibility for CAT is you should have passed or pursuing it and need to produce results when college ask according to their deadline.
Maximum colleges ask till oct/nov for submission of results . If you fail your admission will revoked but if you manage to clear via atkt nmand submit result by that period you are safe because you need to adhere to deadlines.
Hope your doubts are cleared.

If you get admission to any college, it would get revoked because you wouldn't have completed your degree. You would only be able to sit for CAT the following year.
This can seriously affect your future prospects if and if you dont clear your backlogs in final semester. Stay focussed and manage time as you need to focus on both CAT and college exams. You can surely clear both just be confident and have faith in your abilities.
