the eligibility criteria for ugc net is Candidates should secure at least 55 per cent marks in master’s degree exams. A relaxation of five per cent is given to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Other Backward Class (OBC)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category. Therefore, candidates from reserved categories require only 50 per cent aggregate marks in their master’s degree exams. must have complete their post-graduation from a UGC recognised college/university in relevant streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc. there is many subjects includes in ugc net syllabus which has education as a subject.

As per eligibility criteria for UGC NET, candidates can only appear for the subject they have at their post graduation level, hence in your case you can appear for the paper of Education, you're required to have 55% aggregate in Master's Degree in the relevant subject, there's relaxation of 5% in case of reserved category
