Hi,

Happy to see one finance-enthusiast here. And as you're already in B.Com, a MBA degree with Finance as major will definitely be going to help you honing your skills.

And as far your confusion is considered, you can opt for any of the options. But let me tell you both side of it.

A Global MBA degree from abroad will give you a better exposure, no doubt in that. But, then again, getting into any such institution is hell lot difficult and an altogether different game. No need to say, the fees structure needed for such degree is quite high.

Comparatively, the entrance examination for getting into a b-school in India, is Common Admission Test (CAT), fees structure widely varies between 14 - 20 Lakhs, depending on the institution (except few other colleges which has a lower range).

And talking about the exposure, certain b-school are still in the top 10 list GLOBALLY.

As per the official site information, IIM Calcutta Globally ranked #1 in Finance and #2 in Economics.

Something to be proud of, no?

All the best!

Well there are plenty of great institutes in India where you can do your MBA in finance from. IIM C is the best known for finance. Not that A and B are any less. IIM L and IIM I also have a good lineup. Other colleges like FMS, NMIMS, SPJAIN etc also are good for finance. All kinds of roles from investment banking to risk management to global markets open in these colleges. And all the top banks and other bfsi companies come to these campuses and even conduct competitions. Retail banks in India are also recruiting in good numbers and offer good roles. Corporate finance profiles are also offered by some companies. Moreover the faculty at these institutes are also great with years of research and experience and are well respected in the industry as well. So, there are a lot of opportunities in India at the moment. I would suggest pursuing finance in India. On top of everything doing MBA abroad would cost you more as well.

Great time to think and plan for MBA. Yes you can think of doing MBA from abroad if interested.

Though the fact is even if you choose to do from India that is also a great option because there is no lack of top and in demand management colleges in India.

The fees will vary in India and in abroad. Obviously!

But if by studying in Abroad there are not  enough chances to get a job with your expectation and the expected ROI so in this case students find the job in that specific country and earn there itself.

Next, be it any stream you can definitely choose to do MBA from abroad.

Countries you can choose to do MBA in are:

USA

These are some top Bschools in USA:

Booth School of Business

Harvard Business School

Stanford Graduate School of Business

Kellogg School of Management

UK

Some top bschools are:

LBS

LKE

University of Oxford

University of Cambridge

Imperial College Business School

Some other are Canada, Australia and even Singalore.

You will be required to give GMAT entrance for most of the universities criteria.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
