With a JEE Main rank of 2,28,000, it may be challenging to secure a seat in the top NITs, IIITs, or other premier institutions through JoSAA counseling, However there are still possibilities:

• You can get lower rank GFTIS with branches like civil or metallurgical engineering
• Home State Quota: If you are applying to NIT Trichy or other institutions that offer home state quotas in Tamil Nadu, this could increase the chances, although the rank is still on the higher side for most branches.
• Special Round Counselling (CSAB): After the main JoSAA counseling, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts special rounds.
