If we talk about Serampore College which is located in West bengal, the department of Chemistry is oldest and fine established in 1970 and affiliated under University of Calcutta.

The teachers are extremely qualified and motivated with a strong commitment to teaching.

The alumni of this Department occupy high positions in academia and industry in India and abroad. Their accomplishments have been outstanding and reflect on the quality training. The Department has a well-equipped seminar library with around 250 standard text and reference books in different disciplines in chemistry.

Moreover, the Department is deeply committed to build interest in and appreciation of science within the community by conducting activities like-

• Annual seminar program in every year by renowned resource persons from premier institutes.

On the other hand, Considering Chandernagore College, West bengal which is affiliated to Burdwan University. The department of Chemistry is quite old. It has 8 faculty members and 574 books in the seminar library.

The vision is to provide transformative education to students so that they become well-equipped to meet global challenges, become environmentally conscious and are sensitized to community service.
