Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the design, development, testing, and production of aircraft, spacecraft, and related systems and equipment. In other words, the course for Aerospace Engineering has been designed for learners who intend to design aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. In addition, these engineers test prototypes to make sure that they function according to plans. These professionals also design components and sub-assemblies for these craft like engines, airframes, wings.
The course equips a student to be able to effectively build and communicate the solutions crafted using learnings from basic aerospace engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He will have the ability to comprehend the problems and craft solutions in the field of Aerodynamics, Aerospace structure, Aerospace Vehicle design, and propulsions. He will rightly apply the associated learning for the atmospheric Flight mechanics, Jet And Rocket propulsions, Gas Dynamics, and Space Flight Mechanics for the solutions to real-world problems. He would demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions for the aerospace sector using a simulated environment of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering.
As per the NIRF ranking, LPU is ranked 66th among all government and private universities. As per The Times of India ranking, LPU was at no 36. Dear Vishnu,
I am not sure about the aerospace engineering at CU but I would say LPU has good infrastructure for Aerospace engineering.
My cousin's sister is pursuing BTech in Aerospace Engineering at LPU itself and she is in the final year now.
She told me that recently 3 students from aerospace engineering won gold at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC), 2021. IAAC is one of the world’s largest astronomy competitions.
LPU has set an ambitious goal of developing a satellite LPUSAT-1. The Center will enable students and researchers to communicate with the International Space Station (ISS), download lives satellite images, and receive telemetry, Science/engineering data from nano-satellites and larger spacecraft The Center will act as a key facility in the field of space research for LPU as well as a virtual lab for Universities, Colleges and Schools in India and the neighboring countries of India A team of students, Visionauts, from Lovely Professional University have won the prestigious STEM Engagement Award in the 2019 NASA's
2nd-year student of BTech(AE) at LPU, Riddhi Malhotra has been honoured with the ‘Hall of Fame’ award. The occasion was the ‘Annual International Astronomy & Physics Competition (AIAPC-21)’ organized by worldwide reputed physics & science-based website ‘Physeeks’. LPU student is also declared as the first-ever female to get ‘Rank 1’ in the competition. This most diverse and unique competition was participated by 2300+ students and physics enthusiasts from 32 countries across the globe.
Research Achievement:
1. Stanford University ranks 13 LPU faculty members amongst the top 2% of scientists in the world 2. Researchers endorse 'Wild Himalayan Fig' aka Bedu as a natural pain reliever
I hope this helps
Hi Vishnu, the NIRF ranking of LPU in engineering is 66. LPU is far ahead of many IITS and NITs such as IIT (Indore, Rourkela, Guwahati, Gandhinagar), NIT (Silchar, Tiruchirapalli), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), and several others.

Recently, Gopalchetty Brahma and Vinay Kumar Reddy Andluri topped the youth category (over 18 years), while Sathwik Bikumalla won gold in the junior category (under 18 years) in the online competition prestigious International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) 2021. All three are Aerospace Engineering students at Lovely Professional University. IAAC 2021, one of the world’s largest astronomy competitions, registered over 4,700 participants, 1,300 of whom made it to the pre-final and final rounds. The participants were tested in their knowledge of astronomy and astrophysics.
