I am intrested in psychology but also want to give UPSC exam. If i can't crack the UPSC can i countinue in psychology? Is this help me to prepare myself?
Hello,
First of all there is no restrictions in terms of belonging to specific stream when it comes to appearing for UPSC, hence if you wish to pursue graduation in psychology , you can do so what will help regarding this you can have it as an optional subject for Mains, other than this the syllabus of UPSC is quite extensive, and mainly consists of polity, history, geography, economics etc, and the advantage here if you take optional subject as psychology is you don't have to prepare separately in this case, other than this, if you don't succeed for UPSC, then you can pursue post graduate course in psychology, and qualify NET to become assistant professor or pursue PhD, you can also pursue BEd if you wish to teach in school, and you can appear for CTET or state level TETs conducted regarding this.
Greetings aspirant,
If you wish to give the UPSC exam you need to be a graduate in any discipline and then you can qualify for this exam. Moreover, you can study psychology along with preparing for the UPSC exam and can also pursue a course after you get selected as a civil servant.
