Hi
Yes, you can obviously take a drop and appeared in JEE main 2022.
This is because,
If you are jee main 2021 aspirant, I am getting that your class 12tb appearing year is 2021 and so apart from jee main 2021, you will be eligible for JEE main 2022 and jee main 2023 as well as one is eligible for three consecutive years starting from the year of appearing for 12th board examination.
But yes,
Now that JEE mains 2021 April and may session is still in your hand I would suggest you to first focus on these sessions and trust me if you prepare with dedication you can definitely get good rank in JEE main 2021 itself and you can save your one year of drop and in the worst case if you don't get a good rank then you always have the option of taking a drop.

Hi Aspirant,
If you havent dropped earlier due to any reasons then you can drop for JEE 2022.Since there is no age limit for dropping or for JEE MAIN it would not damage anyways but it is always beneficial not to drop since drops are always questionable during job interviews.
Hope it helps!!
