Hello Na Sharma,

Step 1 syllabus includes Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Behavioral science. Hence it can be taken once you've passed 2nd Prof MBBS exam

Step 2 ck includes all the final year subjects. Hence can be taken during or after final year.

Step 2 cs is OSCE exam... can be taken anytime depending on your clinical skills.

Hope this helps.

Hey

USMLE step 1 has 1st year and 2nd year subjects, all are asked in MCQ form with clinical scenarios. It is good to prepare for this in 3rd year, and give the exam at the end of 3rd year so that you can do a clinical elective before you complete your internship (otherwise you are eligible only for observerships)

STEP 2CK AND CS are clinical skills and knowledge tests which you can do while you're working in the US after completing your MBBS and Internship here in India.

Hi sharma

USMLE is basically 3 step exam,

step one is based on 1st and 2 nd year topics along with behavioural sciences.(can be given india)

step 2 CK is an online exam which u can give in india. based on 3rd and 4 th yr subjects( can be given in india)

step 2 CS should be given in US and it bases totally on your clinical skills. ( should be given in USA)

step 3 can be given before or after getting matched to residency. (should be given in USA)

all these exams if started should be given in a span of 7 years.

you can give them in the as soon as you are done with your second year.

You are eligible for step 1 and step 2 as long as you're studying under an ECFMG recognized med school(college in india).
Step 1 is an MCQ exam designed to test how well the examinee applies basic, integral science concepts to clinical scenarios.
Step 2 (two separate exams) - The Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) is a multiple-choice exam designed to determine whether you possess the medical knowledge and understanding of clinical science considered essential for the provision of patient care under supervision.
The Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) is a separate exam that tests the your clinical and communication skills through your ability to gather information from standardized patients, perform a physical examination, communicate the findings to the patient, and write a patient note.
You need to complete MBBS now and then appear for
Step 3 (multiple-choice exam) - This part tests the ability to apply medical knowledge and the understanding of biomedical and clinical science essential for the unsupervised practice of medicine, with emphasis on patient management in ambulatory settings.
