Your rank is decided on your submitted category you can't change it,

You don't need to bother now because requirement for certificates is during filling off jee advance forms ,and if you are not able to send the required certificates as per as filled in jee mains form ,then you are considered as a general canditate.

The JEE mains is the joint entrance examination conducted by the NTA (national testing agency).

As you filled your category as OBC NCL in the application for JEE will consider that only. And the rank will also given depending on that category. The rank giving will not only depend on the category but also depends on some other factors like the no. of candidates who appeared for the examination, no. of seats present in the universities, and the highest marks scored by the candidate, and finally denepnds on category which the candidate belongs to.

As you put your category as OBC ncl then this will be considered as your category while giving ranks.
