Rank is given according to the General Rank, not the Category Rank.

It also depends on how high you are aiming .If you want to go for NITs in the North East , a score of about 120-140 will be enough, but if you are eyeing top NITs , you must have 270+. Also it depends on the Cutoff, usually it is about 290+ for IISc.
