Hi Prachi,
Well, if you are in just for the degree then yea, why not! Half the batch in IBS Mumbai comes here for fun, just for the degree. Trust me you don't want to have that kind of company if you are pursuing a professional course.
There are things an MBA college teaches, and IBS Mumbai does none of them.
There are these good for nothing clubs, which organize events, and nothing else. The learning atmosphere is zero, all students care about is grades, and the case study method of learning is a good way to go, but when you have half disinterested students, only for the degree, you can never have a learning experience.
At the end of 2 years, students can’t even make a decent CV for themselves. I did make a mistake of joining, but i did pretty well for myself. Campus placements are bleak (do check for the latest ones from a current student)
The college was supposedly good 5–6 years back as the batch size was small, there were good students, but now the strength has gone up to 600–700. So naturally the entire scenario changed, and during my time 2012–2014, there were close to 700 odd students, barely 350 got placed, and out of those 350 the highest package was probably 8–10LPA and only 10–12 students got through.
My advice, don’t go there an MBA is tough, and it teaches you a lot, IBS Mumbai teaches nothing, I barely struggled during my MBA it was too easy to be true, I see friends pursuing MBA from other colleges and I see the amount of hard work they put in and practical knowledge they gain by taking part in competitions/classes/case studies etc.
