The syllabus for Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's Common Entrance Test for Bachelors of English is as follows-

General English section- 50% weightage

Literary Aptitude section- 30% weightage

General Awareness section- 20% weightage

So, yes you have to prepare for general awareness because it has 20% weightage.

The topics usually asked in the General Awareness section are as follows-
History, Geography, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, General Science, Basic general knowledge and Current Affairs.

In the entrance exam you will get questions related to General Science and Current Affairs in General Awareness Section.For that i would recommend you to follow any monthly magazine of competitive exams (example : Pratiyogita Darpan and Vision monthly magazine) from the month of January 2020 till the day of exam.That will be more than enough to get good marks in this section.
