i am pursuing b tech in civil engineering but for masters i want to change my branch form civil to aerospace engineering . can i change my branch ? if yes then how it can be done . please explain in detail. right now i got placed in my 8th semester and doing job .

Yes,it is advisable if you are having research or any other plans for the subject you are opting for the MTech.

Writing gate exam in any of the above subject makes you eligible to take admission for the said subject for your masters.

Getting admission to masters to the subject of choice solely depends on your gate score.

Gate score decides which college and which subject you can get.

If you want to focus on the exam and want to get a good rank then go for the subject which you had during graduation as it will be easy for you to prepare.

If you are confident enough about the subject you are opting for the MTech then you should write gate exam in the said subject as it will help you to understand concepts from now and will be helpfull for your masters study.
