I am pursuing Graduation in Arts Stream, can I do correspondence LLB?
Hi Rajen
Not Every course is allowed or is Available from correspondence. Law as a career is a very good option, and you can definitely go for it.
But LLB is a full time professional degree and there are regular practical exams for LLB course.
Also, as per rules of BCI ( Bar council of India) one cannot pursue LLB through Distance/correspondence/online modes.
Though, there are colleges which promise students to complete their LLB through Distance modes. But these courses are completely illegal and I would suggest you to not fall for such traps.
Only if you do full time LLB , then only you'll be recognised to be able to practice law in India.
So after your graduation, you can do LLB from a recognised private institute. Some universities however give admission to 3 year LLB on merit basis also.
But make sure that the LLB course in any University you are joining should be approved by BCI. You can't become lawyer doing LLB through correspondence or distance education.
So just go through this fact and take a good decision . You can go for LLB from some recognised regular college , law as a career option is definitely a good option.
All the Best!
