Hello Aspirant!
Both of the courses you have mentioned are equally good. BPT means Bachelors in Pharmacy and Pharma D is Doctorate in Medicine. If you want to be financially independent early then you can go with BPT as this course is popular these days and also has a great future too. On the other hand, medicine is also a part of our life and will be. It depends upon your interests.
You can start your work by just doing BPT but if you pursue MPT then the job opportunities also increase to an extent and it is also profitable for your knowledge as well as for your opportunities.
Good Luck !
Dear learner,
Bpt and pharm-d are familiar corses .both courses can add doctor as a prefix , of their name . Where as in bpt they prescribe medication to patients , only when working in authority of doctor .
Bpt is way much better in india because it has government jobs with package 4.5 laks per annum
Doing mpt after bpt add more specialized position in hospital ,like orthopedics, neuroscience, pediatrics. Even salary gets increased.6lakhs per annum.
Where as pharm-d has more connection to doctors, they have more scope at other countries ,even pharm-d graduates has authority to prescribe medication.in other countries .
But pharm-d students has no government job option in india that's the only drawback many of them joined as duty doctors in some hospitals.
Duration of pharm-d is 6 years
Duration of bpt is 4.5 years
