With a 70 percentile in JEE Mains and belonging to the SC category, getting admission to top institutions like SRM, VIT, or BITS might be difficult due to higher cutoffs. However, you can still explore options at state-level or private engineering colleges that have lower cutoffs. Colleges like Maharishi Markandeshwar University or Symbiosis University might be more accessible with your percentile.
You can also look into other engineering entrance exams that may have more favorable cutoffs. It's important to research each college's cutoff trends, participate in counseling sessions, and consider alternative exams for better opportunities. While the 70 percentile might limit some top colleges, there are still options to pursue your engineering goals.

With a 70 percentile in JEE Mains and being in the SC category , you have a reasonable chance of securing admission in some top private universities like SRM , VIT , Amrita , and BITS (though BITS Pilani typically has a more competitive entrance). Here’s a breakdown of your chances in these institutions:
SC Category Benefits : As an SC category student, you will have relaxed cutoffs compared to the general category, giving you better chances of securing admission in most of these universities. However, for high-demand branches like Computer Science , the competition remains tough.
Counseling and Cutoff Checking : It’s important to check the specific cutoffs for each university and each category. For many universities, cutoffs vary across branches, and the SC category often has a lower cutoff.
Alternate Options : If you do not secure admission in the first round, many universities conduct multiple rounds of counseling . Keep an eye on those opportunities and be ready to apply to any branch that has a cutoff within your range.
While your 70 percentile might not guarantee a seat in high-demand branches , there are still good chances for admission in SRM , VIT , and Amrita (especially in less competitive branches). For BITS Pilani , you would need to appear for BITSAT .
