HIi aspirant..

I would suggest you to go according to your choice not according to your parents choice while choosing the course as you are the one who is going to pursue the career in that field.

Although if your parents want you to do engineering and you are really pleased for doing engineering but interested in doing research work in physics then there are many ways through which you can do new research in Physics after completion of Engineering.

These are the major ways for doing Msc or Integrated Ph.D.(or direct Ph.D. in some cases) in Physics after Engineering.

  • JAMUniversities Entrance tests.
  • Opportunities abroad (Physics GRE, General GRE, IELTS and TOFEL, etc)
  • JESTTIFR GS (Integrated Ph.D. paper)
  • GATE score in any Engineering stream
  • MS by research programs
  • Direct Ph.D.
  • Astronomy and related programs
  • GATEPhysics
  • CSIR NET

Hope it helps.

Best of luck.
