Hi Shweta,

The following are the the cut off marks and rank for MBBS and BDS government seats in Odisha under the 85% State Quota seats for ST category in the year 2018.

MBBS:

Government Medical College and Hospital, Balasore

Rank - 208285

Marks - 281

BDS:

S.C.B. Dental College & Hospital, Cuttack

Rank - 225715

Marks - 270

Looking at the ease of paper this year, I am sorry to say that your marks might just not be enough to get into a government MBBS or BDS college even if you have the 85% State Quota and the ST category certificate.

Thank you and all the best.

Every year the paper's level is easy or tough for some students. This year though majority of students said the paper was easier as opposed to your views. But it's not that you're wrong. All these things get cleared only once the results are out.

Hello student,

Yes, With a score of 268 in St category, you have chances of procuring a seat in the government dental colleges when comparing the results of previous years. Last year, a minimum score of 270 was required to fetch one a seat in the S. C. B. Dental college and hospital,  Cuttack in St category under state quota. But, One thing to keep in mind is that scores and ranks vary each year with difficulty level of the question paper and availability of seats. However you can predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the given link

Good luck

Hi

As per the marks that you have mentioned I would like to tell you that you won't get a government college as last year least marks to secure a seat was 281 marks in Government Medical College and Hospital, Balasore from your category under state quota. Remember cutoff varies every year depending on number of students appearing in exam, difficulty level of exam, students scoring more than you and your category. You can apply for deemed colleges to be on safer side.
