I AM STUDENT FROM TELANGANA STATE BELONGS TO SC CATEGORY. I GOT 377 MARKS IN NEET UG, CAN I GET A MEDICAL SEAT
It's difficult to predict with absolute certainty whether you can secure a medical seat with a score of 377 in NEET UG and belonging to the SC category in Telangana.
Typically, cut-off scores for government MBBS/BDS seats in Telangana, even for SC candidates, are significantly higher than 377. The exact cut-off depends on various factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the number of test-takers, and the number of available seats.
Medical seats, especially in government colleges, are highly sought-after, and competition can be fierce even with reservations.
While securing a government seat might be challenging, you could consider private medical colleges in Telangana that accept NEET UG scores for admissions. These colleges might have their own cut-offs, which could be lower than those of government colleges.
The cut-offs for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs are generally lower compared to MBBS. You might have a better chance of securing a seat in a BDS college with your score.
Explore deemed universities in Telangana or other states that offer medical programs and accept NEET UG scores.

Hello,
With 377 marks in NEET and belonging to the SC category, you might have a chance of securing a government seat in Telangana for courses like MBBS or BAMS. However, the likelihood depends on various factors, such as the specific cut-offs for the year, the number of seats available, and the competition. Here is a general outlook:
MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- Government Medical Colleges : Securing a seat in top government medical colleges for MBBS might be challenging with 377 marks, even in the SC category. However, lower-tier government medical colleges or those with higher SC reservation may still be within reach.
- State Quota : Since you belong to the SC category, you have a better chance under the 85% state quota. Checking the previous year's cut-offs for SC candidates in Telangana will give a clearer picture.
- Counseling Process : Participate in the state counseling process, as this can provide opportunities based on your category and domicile status.
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
- Government Ayurveda Colleges : You have a higher chance of securing a seat in BAMS programs at government institutions with 377 marks in NEET. The competition for BAMS seats is generally lower compared to MBBS.
- State and Central Quota : Utilize both the state and central quota counseling sessions to maximize your chances of getting a seat.
