There is nothing as best stream or best course if you want to give UPSC CSE in future.You can choose any stream if you want to be an IPS officer.
Several UPSC CSE Toppers are example of this.UPSC CSE have toppers from different backgrounds be it engineering, medical, humanities and commerce.
The only requirement you need is graduation in any course.
Current affairs, general studies,mathematics, english, reasoning will help you in prelims.
History, Geography,Fine Arts, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Environment, Ethics will help you in mains.
So,every subject is important in UPSC CSE.
All you need to do is choose any stream which you are most interested in.
