I am student of FY d pharm ...I would like to job in hospital....so which course is better for me MBBS or pharmacy

Hello Bhavin.

You can get job at hospital by completing MBBS or by completing B.pharmacy both. However it is totally depends on your area of interest to opt any of course from them. Here are some useful information about both courses which will definitely help you to opt any one of both.

1- MBBS ( Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is most prestigious and most charming proffession in India.

The course duration is 5.5 years (4.5 years of classroom study followed by a year of rotating internship). The 4.5 year of classroom study is broken into 3 phases of 18 month each. Each phase of 18 months is known as professional and is further divided into 3 semesters of 6 months each. There is a semester exam at the end of each semester and a professional exam at the end of each professional exam. The third professional is devoted to monthly clinical work in the wards and departments of the hospitals. In all there are 3 professional examinations, followed by practical and clinical examinations. Pass percentage required is 50%.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MBBS ADMISSION IN INDIA: -

To get admission into MBBS program in India, student have to complete their 10+2 education with physics, chemistry and biology and score at least 50% marks (40% marks in the case reserved category) Student's age should be between 17 years to 25 years. Student have to appear for national level exam conducted by CBSE, New Delhi, i.e NEET ( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Student can also apply for AIIMS and JIPMER entrance exam to. Get seat for MBBS.

2- Pharmacy: - Pharmacy is the science and techniques of preparing, dispensing, and review of drugs and providing additional clinical services.

A) - B.Pharm: - B.Pharm admission requirement are as follow: - Applicants must be at least 17 years of age at time of admissions and are required to complete the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), or 10+2 examination in the science stream with biology.

B) - D.Pharma: - Same as in B.pharma.

PRACTICE AREAS:-Pharmacist practice in variety of areas including community pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and regulatory agencies. Pharmacist themselves may have expertise in a medical speciality.

1- Community Pharmacy: - Community Pharmacies usually consists of a retail storefront with a dispensary where medications are stored and dispensed.

2- Hospital Pharmacy: - Pharmacist in hospitals differ considerably from community pharmacies. Hospital Pharmacy can often be found without the premises of the hospital.

3- Clinical Pharmacy: - Pharmacists provide direct patient care services that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health, Wellness and disease prevention.

It depends on your interest & capability, In order to take admission for MBBS programme you need to appear NEET Entrance Exam, For Pharmacy programme, there are state level or university level exam you need to appear.

Career in MBBS & higher studies is very rewarding for the students, those interested in science and dealing with treating sick peoples. If you have the interest in Pharmacy, You can go for it, After completing the programme numerous jobs are available for pharmacists in Government as well as Private organizations.

You can also open your own clinic as per your interest.
