Hi

As of now students with biology as an additional subject are eligible for neet so going by this. Yes,  you would be eligible for NEET 2022  if you are a PCM student and  giving Biology as an additional /optional subject .

This is because,

The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject  is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-----------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination  or should have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

††Important Note :- Students who have passed Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement.   For neet 2022 there's still time left so in meanwhile if judgement comes then eligibility of biology additional students will depend upon the outcome of judgement.

-----------)  Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-----------)  Age limit :-

  • Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet  one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .

  • Upper age limit :-The upper age limit  is 25 years as on the date of neet examination and there's relaxation of 5 years for obc ncl/SC/ST /PwBD students means upper age limit is 30 years for these categories.

†††† But since 2018, the case of upper age limit is pending in supreme court , and so there's no upper age limit as of now until supreme court gives its judgement over it.

The application is same for everyone,

It doesn't matter even if you have biology as an additional subject.

Once, the application form gets released you will be able to fill it in online mode at the official website of neet i. e ntaneet . nic . in and for that you need to go through 5 steps i. e

  • neet registration to generate your login credentials,

  • then fill the form,

  • and after that you need to go for uploading your documents,

  • then pay the application fee

  • And finally you should take the printout of confirmation page

Hey Yuvraj

As you have not studied Biology subject in your 12th standard, you are not eligible to apply for NEET examination. If you are interested in NEET exam you have to study 11th and 12th again with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English it doesn't matter its an optional subject and procedure is almost same.

  1. The student can get certified in NIOS board taking 5 subjects ( with PCB being compulsory)
  2. The student can take the BIOLOGY exam under ‘Additional Subject Criteria’ while registering as a private candidate from the same board which the student passed 12th from.

GOOD LUCK
