I am studying in 12th class in the academic year 2021-22, so was I eligible for jee main and jee advanced in 2021?

With reference to your above mentioned query, I would like to tell you that you are not eligible for JEE mains and advance in your academic year 2021-22 as the number of attempts that are counted for eligibility criteria for JEE mains and advance is counted from the time you are appearing for JEE mains and advance.

Every candidate is allowed to appear to give 3 attempts in JEE mains and 2 attempts in JEE advance.

That means you are eligible for JEE mains and JEE advance for this academic year, 2021-22. Then after this attempt you'll have remaining 2 attempts for JEE mains and one attempts for JEE advance. The eligibility criteria state that the candidate who has passed their 10+2 level or is going to give their 10+2 level exam in that year is eligible to give JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. So as you entered your 10+2 level in 2021 you are not eligible to give JEE Main and JEE Advanced in 2021 but you will be eligible to give JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2022. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the NTA JEE Mains 2022 exam date and registration details soon. No, by the time you reached 12 th standard in 2021 JEE Mains 2021 and JEE Advanced 2021 were started and you were still in 11 th standard while these exams were conducted.

For JEE Mains 2021, Students in their 12 th standard in 2021 and students passed their 12 th standard in 2020 and 2021 are eligible. Similarly in your case in JEE Mains 2024.

You are eligible to write JEE Mains exam in the year 2022, 2023 and 2024. You can attempt JEE Mains three times in consecutive years and JEE Advanced in two times.

You have have passed or appearing in 12 th standard from a recognised Board to appear for JEE exam.
