Deciding to switch from CISCE board to a CBSE school for cracking JEE in Class 11 depends on various factors. While the CBSE syllabus aligns more closely with JEE curriculum, transitioning involves adapting to a new system and syllabus, which might initially pose challenges. However, CBSE's focus on JEE preparation through its curriculum and resources can be advantageous. Consider factors such as your comfort with the ICSE system, your ability to adapt, the quality of coaching available, and your determination to excel in JEE. Ultimately, choose a path that suits your learning style and goals best.
Hey Somya!
I myself have done my 10th from icse and 12th from isc.
Most of the students have the same confusion.
It depends student to student.I have seen studens who crack jee being in an isc school. If you are having some difficulty studying in isc then you can change as isc course gives more importance to english(shakespeare) which is not required by any of the student preparing for jee. English actually needs time and then you might score less in your isc boards.
cbse English is easier and cbse board concentrates on competitive exams which makes your life easier.
In isc you will have isc books and have to study ncert and coaching books also.
in cbse you will have to study ncert which is better .
But at the end its totally up to you.
If you can manage then stay in the same school.
Hope its helps!
not necessarily, but if you wish to change you can change your school. you will find CBSE school to be a easy one as compared to ICSE. you should also remember that you should not change schools when in class 11. I think that if you are not that good in ICSE then only you should consider changing your school to a CBSE one.
I hope this helps. all the best.
Hello Saumya!
CBSE and ICSE are the most preferred by students. If you want to prepare fr JEE Mains, then first of all you should go through the syllabus of JEE Mains. CBSE board covers nearly all topics of JEE Mains but you should keep in mind other factors too to decide which board to study in for preparation of JEE Mains exam.
CBSE
CBSE board covers almost all the topics that are asked in JEE Mains. But the topics are not taught in very detailed manner. Moreover, the questions in JEE are tricky and CBSE fails to develop our skills to solve such tricky questions. However some portion in JEE is asked directly from NCERT.
ICSE
Though it doesn't cover whole JEE syllabus but the topics are taught in depth and develops our skills such that we can solve even the tricky questions.
The best decision should be to study in an ICSE school and keep a check on JEE syllabus so that you can cover your syllabus as well as master each one of them.
Well among my friends, more numver of students from ICSE were able to crack JEE Mains as compared to CBSE. So I would recommend you to study in ICSE school only but at the same time keep checking the syllabus of JEE.
Hope this will help you!
Thanks!!!
Hi, CBSE is a board and ICSE is an exam conducted by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE). It is said that most of the questions are asked from the syllabus of CBSE class 11 and 12 for JEE entrance exams.
To prepare for JEE, it is a must that you know the syllabus first subject wise for Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. To know the syllabus in details, click on the link - https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-syllabus
After being thorough with the syllabus, use the important books for preparation as given below -
Mathematics - Trigonometry by S. L. Loney, Higher Algebra by Hall & Knight, Maths XI & XII by NCERT, Co-ordinate Geometry by S. L. Loney, Problems in Calculus of One Variable by I.A. Maron
Physics- Problems in General Physics by I.E. Irodov, Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker, Concepts of Physics Vol I and II by H.C. Verma,
Chemistry - Organic Chemistry by Paula Bruice Yurkanis, Organic Chemistry by Morrison & Boyd, Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee, Numerical Chemistry by P. Bahadur
Hello.
The principal difference between CBSE and ICSE education is that while CBSE is a board, ICSE is an Exam conducted by CISCE. CBSE and ICSE, both are most popular school board formats in India and is widely spread across all states. The subjects offered for study are almost same in these two.
SyllabusCBSE syllabus is most appropriate for clearing entrance exams for professional courses like engineering, medical, accountancy and so on. On the other side of the coin, ICSE syllabus very vast which demands a lot of remembrance on the part of the student. Therefore, when it comes to the content of the course, CBSE stresses on maths and science while CISCE gives equal weightage to all the subjects.
ConclusionBoth CBSE and ICSE certificates are widely accepted in all colleges and institutes in India and across the world. As the certificate awarded by the two boards has global acceptance and the quality of education provided is the best. Therefore, it is hard to select one of the two education boards. Before making a choice amongst these two.
ISC is more deep and you need to dive a bit way too much. Yet, ISC gives you a proper idea unlike CBSE that just mentions the facts in its books. For JEE , CBSE is a very good option but ISC is not bad either. So Getting into CBSE in 11th doesn't matter for you and you may feel it little easy even.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck.
