Hello Sachin ! It's completely fine if you are taking a decision to drop this year for preparation of Cat19.
Since you have already experienced the Cat 18 it will be a big advantage for you.Now , By the time you must be aware of exam pattern and the areas in which you have to focus more and you can plan your strategy accordingly.
But since you are planning to drop this year this could create a problem in the interview session because you can not say in front of the interviewer that you dropped the year for CAT exam's preparation.
So you need to cover up this fact, for this you may apply for any diploma courses.
Hope this is helpful
Best of luck!
Hi Sachin, I would suggest this may not be a good decision if you are not working. The advantages I feel is like, you may get some extra time to prepare and can be well prepared and thoroigh to ace next year CAT. But the disadvantages can be if you are not working, it can be a very big issue and staying without work would not be a good option. If you have work, then this decision wont be making an impact as you could concentrate much on your work, but at the same time, make sure the burning desire to do MBA shouls not die out in you within this ohase, as there have been people who get into the work so much that they leave aside the MBA dreams in the run. CAT preparation generally requires only 5-6 months on the whole and the last year scores should not be an issue to leave this year, because there have been people who scored just 50 percentile in their last CAT and have got more than 95 percentile in the next CAT. So think about the scenario in which you are. If I need to give in an opinion I would tell, you can try for this year CAT preparing well.
