I am thinking to take MBA degree..... If it need a compulsory exam for joining university or not
Hello Mohan,
I read you have done Bsc in Botany. I would suggest you that if you have a good amount of interest in Management than only go for MBA, or else there are other options as well. I will advice you to pursue your PG in agriculture or forestry as it has a good scope. I am only suggesting this on your UG course. You know whats best for you. so opt smartly.
All the best

Hello Mohan,
First of all a very good decision of taking up MBA as a PG course. MBA is one of the most renowned degree and has got a very good value attached to it, so it is necessary for you to get that degree from a good and reputed intstitute. If any college/university is enrolling an individual without an enterance exam, that I think you should save yourself from such college/university. You have to give an enterence exam to get yourself ennroled in a good institute. Now what you can do is that, find a good college prepare for the enterence exam. If you face any difiiculties, Career360 is always there to help.
Thank you,

Actually, it filters out the candidates who have an aptitude for pursuing management. If it wasnt compulsory, we would have seen more numbers applying for MBA than already overflowing aspirants.
There are other exams as well that act as a filter apart from CAT. As you may know, GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is used globally as a standard examination to apply for foreign universities. In the B-School I am associated with viz. SPJIMR, all three scores are accepted CAT, GMAT and XAT. (XAT is a separate exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur).
Mostly, all the exams are conducted for getting a full-time 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), which is a staple programme for all B-Schools.
Having said that, you can become a namesake MBA without appearing any exams for other courses offered by various institutes.
Just in the morning, I got a call from Wellingkar Institute of Technology for doing part-time MBA without any CAT/XAT/GMAT. If one just wants a tag of an MBA without any real value addition whatsoever, one can go for that gimmicky MBA as well.
Log answer short, for a traditional MBA with some real weight, go through the grinding process of terrifying CAT exams, bone-crunching interviews and hell more.
Hope this answers your question.
