NEET is the sole national-level MBBS entrance exam held all over India for rendering admission to top medical colleges across the country. Considering this, it is quite obvious that the level of competition expected would also be high for NEET 2020 exam . As per the latest statistics acquired for NEET 2019 exam, a total of 1.41 candidates appeared for the NEET UG exam which is increasing at a rate of 14.4% each year. Thus, this calls for better preparation and in-depth practice by utilizing all the resources wisely.

NEET reference books by Target Publications offers a one-stop solution for preparation. The USP of Target NEET exam books lies in the way it is bifurcated into two parts that reduce the overall stress surrounding NEET exam preparation to a great extent. Here are a few points which I found worthy in the NEET books (https://www.targetpublications.org/entrance-exam/neet) from Target.

This includes:

  • NEET Absolute (https://www.targetpublications.org/catalogsearch/result/?q=NEET+Absolute) – That covers the conceptual part of the book
  • NEET Challenger (https://www.targetpublications.org/catalogsearch/result/?q=NEET+Challenger) – That tests the understanding and caliber of student

Concise and crisp theory covered

NEET Challenger presents to students the theory of each chapter in the form of pointers, tables, diagrams and charts thereby making it much easier to imbibe it during NEET exam UG. preparation . Moreover, it also comes across as a great medium of last-minute revision wherein the student won’t be required to crack their brain reading through the complete theory, instead just go through the pointers and get the entire NEET exam syllabus concept cleared in the mind.

Well divided MCQs

MCQs play an integral role in NEET exam. The MCQs in the book is divided into two parts: One includes the problems which aid in concept building and the other assist students in practicing their NEET exam preparation done so far, thereby balancing both the aspects.

Hints to explain why the answer is so

As students queries may arise anywhere anytime. One may think, why a particular question has a particular answer. The NEET Challenger series and NEET Absolute Series by Target Publication consist of Hints wherever required that leaves no room for any queries to arise ahead.

Sneak into the previous year questions

Furthermore, the NEET Absolute series and NEET Challenger series provide students a range of MCQs asked in NEET previous year questions. This takes away the need for hunting for previous year questions for NEET . Moreover, the questions are not only from the NEET exam but also other state competitive exams that can deem fruitful when preparing for MBBS entrance exam.

After all this, students are also provided with model papers at the end of NEET Challenger by Target Publication which further aid students test their caliber and get set before the final D-Day of the NEET exam .

Overall, the Target books for NEET contain lucid content, smart bifurcation, immense practice and conceptual clarity that makes Exam preparation easy and comfortable. A great tool to grasp clarity without complexity.

All the Best!

I hope you are studying from ncert too.

If yes, youcan surely study from target but ncert is must

The best way to study is to read and then solve mcq related to it . this way you will retain more.

Make a good schedule as if you study haphazardly , then many chapters might get piled up at the end

Other books you can refer to are -

For biology - truemen , coaching study books , dinesh , mtg

For physics - hc verma , dc pandey , mtg

For chemistry - mtg, universal , op tandon

It depends which book you are comfortable with. Content in most of the books are same . it is just whivh you like the most . so whichever you book want to , you can read but YOU MUST READ NCERT.

other than that i would suggest you to solve last year question papers to understand the pattern .

Take good sleep otherwise you would retain less .

Better study properly for whatever hours you study to yield more

All the very best

Hope it helps

Dear Aniket,

Firstly i would request you to completely read NCERT Textbook thoroughly. If you havent finished it kindly do that first. Even donot spare tables, colour boxes and figure. They are a potent source of MCQs.

As far as target publications are considered they it seems to be a pretty decent book. Although many other books are available which can also be used. But if you are comfortable in using target publications there is no harm in it.

But make it point to solve each and every MCQ in the book. Set a number of MCQ to be solved every day. Keep it small say abt 10 - 15 MCQs.

And most importantly solve last years NEET and AIPMT papers. Wishing you all the best.

Regards

Hi Aniket!

Ensure that you have understood the content given in NCERT prescribed textbooks. Understand the solved examples from NCERT textbooks. The analogy in the answers are similar for answering NEET questions. In biology, every word is important because about 80-85% of the questions are quite direct from the NCERT textbook. This is essential to provide a good foundation, otherwise you won't be able to grasp concepts from other reference books efficiently.

Then you can use Target Publications for reference. Solve previous years papers in a mock exam format, to develop time management skills.

Hope this answers your question!

Hi Aniket,  As per your query about target publication book for NEET preparation - Its usually a individual choice but for bio prefer NCERT BOOK over anyother.. You have not mentioned which year you are presently 11th, 12th or passed 12

Supposing you are in 11 std...so you will be attempting NEET UG 2019, which is around 1 yr 6 months from now...so you have to make your own study plan and follow it properly with dedication and PATIENCE....you have to devote most of time say 80 % in NEET preparation and 20 % in board exam preparation

Most important for NEET/AIIMS is your NCERT books as these books include basic principles and concepts and provide accurate information.

BUT KEEP IN MIND YOU HAVE TO CLEAR ENTRANCE YOU ARE NOT DOING PhD so dont go by all books mentioned here and there

KEEP NCERT + ONE REFERNCE BOOK + MAXIMUM MCQS PRACTICE = Medical SEAT Apart from this, you can add upon it by target publication or any other book

Hope this helps!....BEST OF LUCK
