Dear Gaurav, unfortunately the last thing you need right now is to be afraidd. It is an entrance examination and there are quite a no.of seats available for admissions. So do not worry. Know the pattern, make few changes to your preparation and you will do good. NTA has changed the exam pattern. Under the new exam pattern, the number of questions per subject has been reduced from 30 MCQs to 20 MCQs, and 5 questions with numerical answers. The MCQs still carry negative marking for each wrong answer, while there is no negative marking for the other 5 questions. So your preparation has to change accordingly. Physics: You need to practise to be fast and accurate wih the formulae. Go through each derivation, prepare short notes and most importantly memorize the formulae, definitions and processes. Read the theory and practice its examples in the NCERTs. Have small flash cards for quick reference. Concepts in Physics by Dr. HC Verma is a great source for strengthening the basics after completing the NCERT book. Beginning with its examples, solve objectives I, II and the theory questions. Over the years, for Physics, the focus had been on Electronic Devices, Optics, Electrostatics, and Thermodynamics. So concentrate more on these subjects. Chemistry: Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Bio-molecules, Polymer, Aldehyde Ketone and Carboxylic acids, Equilibrium, Coordinate Compounds etc. constitute the major part of the Chemistry paper. It is further added that Qualitative Analysis, General principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements and Surface Chemistry etc. have lesser number of questions in the exam. If you can memorise the periodic table, chemical formula of each gas and their structure, Chemistry can be easier for you. Focus on focus on Organic Compounds containing Oxygen, Equilibrium, Basic Concepts, and Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure. Mathematics: Nothing works like having strong fundemental knowledge. The pattern of a solution to a problem must be worked upon. A typical question often requires a combination of various concepts and their intertwining among themselves. Their analysis helps in strengthening the concepts and imbibing the requisite skills.Your focus should be on Coordinate Geometry, Limit, continuity, and differentiability, and Integral Calculus. Chapters like 3-Dimensional Geometry, Applications of Derivatives, Limits, Continuity and Differentiability and Matrices and Determinants constitute a higher number of questions in JEE. Be quick in Calculations. Also visit our page for more preparation tips at: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-preparation-tips/amp
