Astronomy is a natural science that studies celestial objects and phenomena. It uses mathematics, physics, and chemistry in order to explain their origin and evolution. As said above, you cannot do astronomy without mathematics as astronomy is a field that requires an explanation of things and checking if it holds true.
Hence, you won't be able to pursue astronomy without taking mathematics as a subject.
