I am working as trainee mechanical engineer. Is it considered as experience for cat.And what if I don't get experience letter.
While there are also other colleges such as IIFT, FMS, etc. which do not give any/much marks or preference for work experience during their selection process, I would suggest to get the work experience letter to strengthen your profile further. I hope this answer helps you.
Working in a company after your graduation be it a trainee or something else is considered as work experience. Normally everyone have 1 year of starting phase as training phase only. So it will be considered useful.
Moreover without a certificate it won't be considered anywhere. Niether in the form not in the college you will enter. As a professional organization if you will leave them legally they are bound to give you the experience certificate be it a month or years. So get your Certificate of experience from them it would be useful to you

In case you have more than 2-3 years of experience then you should go ahead with the added experience otherwise there is no use.
Though the weight age depends upon the institutes for work experience.
Even if you do not have any work experience then also you can consider applying in CAT entrance and other management entrance.
Also if you have more than 3 years of experience you can prefer GMAT entrance than CAT preferably because GMAT will open your opportunities not only in India but globally.
All the best.
