Since the EWS category has been introduced just this year, there is no actual trend for it to follow. The counseling procedure is already unpredictable and thus commenting on your chances in a particular institution will be too far fetched. But going by the result declared till now, your chances in NITs and decent IIITs are pretty low, for example even NIT Agartala is having branches closed around 5k EWS rank. Though these are initial ranks and there will be a spike in the closing ranks in later stages and thus you might stand a little chance in newer IIITs like that of Himachal Pradesh, etc.

I would recommend you to go for some private colleges which accept Mains Score and also to try for those states where JEE mains marks are accepted as that of Karnataka.
