I belong to OBC category but income is more than 6 lac, so as per the rule for counselling i selected open category does that mean I wont be eligible for any category reservation futher?
Hello,
If you family's annual income is less than 8 lakhs per annum then you will come under OBC-NCL but if it is more than 8 lakhs per annum then you will come under creamy layer and they are considered as general category. And you are only eligible to get admission under unreserved quota. If your parent annual income is upto 8 lakhs per annum then you need to prove OBC-NCL certificate to claim reservation. But you have applied under general category so you won't be able to claim any reservations. If you come under OBC-NCL and if you have OBC-NCL certificate then if correction window is available you can change you category.
Hi Sayali,
For OBC certificate ,the annual income should not be more than 8 lacs.Open category is same as general category i.e by selecting open category, you have chosen general category and you won't get the category reservation benefits.
In case you are OBC candidate and has the required documents ,you can request the concerned authority for correction in the form and updating it.
Hope this helps.
