I belong to Punjab and I scored 463 marks in neet 2020. What are my chances of getting a college in state quota or all India quota government or private colleges? My category is general.

Hello ravisha

You scored well but 463 marks is quite low for government seat in punjab..
As per the previous year cuttoff of punjab for getting back in mbbs college,
For all India quota, their is no chance of government college and if you are applying for state quota ,then also you havr very less chance of government college according to your marks and category.. But yes you have chance of getting private medical college in Punjab..

Hope you find this information helpful

Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. And for appearing for State Counselling you need to hold the domicile of that particular State. Or else the only other option is through Management Quota. 463 marks is approximately within a rank of 110000-120000. With this rank, under All India Quota, you might get Management Quota seats in Deemed Universities. In Punjab, you might get a seat in:

  • BabaJaswant Singh Dental College Hospital & Research Institute
  • Dasmesh Institute of Research & Dental Sciences
  • Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital, Mandi Gobindgarh

Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.
