In tamil nadu, admission in the medical colleges is done through NEET score and merit. The seats are allotted as follows - 15% all India quota, and 85% tamil nadu state quota. So if you belong to states other than tamil nadu, you can apply through 15% all India quota only.

So for now, just work hard, and focus on NEET.

Admission to MBBS Course in the medical colleges of Tamil Nadu will be done on the basis of NEET UG scores.

Tamil Nadu MBBS Seat distribution is as follows-
15% All India Quota Seats
85% State Quota Seats
Seats in the Private medical and dental colleges
Seats in Deemed and Central universities

15% All India Quota Seats are available for candidates from All Over India. So, you will be eligible for admission to 15% All India Quota seats in the Governemnt Medical Colleges of Tamil Nadu.

For admission to 85% State Quota seats candidates are required to fulfill the eligiblity criteria of the state and as you belong to Uttar Pradesh, you won’t be eligible for admission to the 85% State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges of Tamil Nadu.

There are two types of seats in private medical colleges-
i) Government seats, which are reserved for candidates belonging to the state and fulfilling the eligibility criteria as specified by the state authorities. So, you won’t be eligible to apply for admission to seats in private medical colleges.

ii) Private/Management seats, which are offered to candidates from other states also. So, you can apply for admission to management seats in private colleges.

Candidates from other states are eligible for admission to Deemed and Central Universities also so you can apply for Deemed Universities also.

Overall, you will be eligible to apply for 15% All India Quota seats and Management quota seats in private medical colleges of Tamil Nadu.

Admission Criteria is as follows-
For admission to 15% All India Quota seats, online counselling will be conducted by MCC. Counselling will be conducted on the basis of NEET scores.
For admission to private medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, counselling will be conducted by state counselling authority. Counselling will be conducted on the basis state merit rank. State merit rank is provided to candidates on the basis of NEET scores only.

- Candidates must be a citizen of India. OCI candidates are also eligible to apply for admission to Tamil nadu.
- Candidate should be a native of state.
- Candidates who are native of the state and have studied Class 6 to Class 12 in the school located in Tamil Nadu are not required to produce the Nativity Certificate.

Nativity Certificate is required for admission to Government seats in private colleges and for seats in Governemnt colleges.

Application forms for admission will be available tentatively from the second week of June.
