Dear Kamlesh, Science Olympiad is a 5 stage procedure. National Standard Examination, Indian National Olympiad, Orientation-cum-Selection Camp, Pre-Departure Camp, International Olympiad are the 5 stages.
NSE: National Standard Examinations in Astronomy (NSEA), National Standard Examinations in Biology (NSEB), National Standard Examinations in Chemistry (NSEC), National Standard Examinations in Junior Science (NSEJC) and National Standard Examinations in Physics (NSEP) constitute the first stage of selection process of students for National Olympiad Program.
Eligibility: For being eligible for NSE, you must be eligible to hold an Indian Passport. You should have been born between July 1st, 1999 and June 30th, 2004 including both the dates. Must be residing in India since November 30th, 2016 or earlier or should have been studying in Indian system since November 30th, 2016. Should not have completed 10+2 before November 2018. Shouldnt start studying or plan to study in a University by June 1st, 2019. Musn't be appearing in NSEJS 2018. If you fulfill this ctiteria, you can enroll.
Enrollment: You can enroll at your own school or college or at a different school or college. If your school or college is a NSE centre, you can contact your Principal and enroll directly. If your school or college is not a NSE centre, you can still register at the nearest NSE centre. The list of the registration centres will be available at their official website www.iapt.org.in.
Indian National Olympiad: 300 students from each subjevct will be selected for another round of test. The syllabus is as same as NSE.
Orientation-cum-Selection Camp: The top 35 students (approximately) from each subject are selectes and are trained for Olympiad level of theoretical, experimental and observational tasks. Based on the performances few students are picked up to represent India at the International Olympiad Level.
Pre-Departure Camp: The selected teams undergo a rigourous training before departure to International Olympiad.
International Olympiad: 4-6 students from each subject participate in the International Olympiad. The students are accompanied by 2-4 mentors.
Hope this helps!
