Students who have completed a diploma in engineering in a suitable discipline are eligible to apply for the b.tech lateral entry entrance exam or straight second-year admission to the lateral programme. However, an ITI course is not the same as a diploma in engineering, which takes three years to complete after passing 10th grade.

students who has completed diploma in engineering course in relevant discipline are eligible to apply for b.tech  lateral entry entrance test or admission to lateral in direct second year. however ITI course is not equivalent with diploma in engineering, diploma in engineering takes three years to completion after completing 10th standard.

so if you have completed ITI course you may join diploma course now , after completion of diploma  you may apply for b.tech lateral entry post.
