You should first begin with a language. C is taught in almost every college in first year. It is very easy to begin with, and you should learn C. Mycodeschool, thenewboston are excellent youtube channels to begin with. Practicing is very important for actually getting better at coding. Hackerrank is an excellent platform for practice problems. As for books, 'Let us C' by Yashavant Kanetkar is a book which has everything written in a simple and easy to understand language, you can either buy it or look for pdf online. You should use the book as a side-reference.

Nowadays learning is not just limited to traditional way, with plethora of options in the virtual world.



There are number of sites like EdX, Coursera, Udemy,Udacity, MIT OpenCourseWare etc.



Apart from this, if you're only catering to learning, there are some really good channels on Youtube, it can perhaps help you.



Also, there are paid courses offered by these sites, many people often pursue these courses not only to enhance their knowledge but also they're provided with certificates too.
