Hello,
Different universities follow different criteria and norms when it comes to admission process, for example in BHU only candidates who have studied english as one of the subject in all year of their graduation level or have Hons in the concerned subject with 50% aggregate in total are eligible to apply, in case of JNU, JMI and Delhi University candidates from any discipline from a recognized university with 50% aggregate are eligible, in case of AMU candidates who have not studied English as a subject in the qualifying examination aren't eligible.
Greetings,
Of course you can go for that, the relevant admission test is what needs clearing like any other MA course or program. Please do keep in mind the fact that opting for MA English directly with no background of it whatsoever will result in confusions later on so check the syllabus for BA English and get yourself up to date.
