I don't have 60% in btech. Am I eligible to write gate exam?
GATE 2025: Syllabus | Sample Papers
Hello student,
Before 2019 there was a requirement of 60% in BTech undergraduate course for applying for GATE exam. The rules have been changed recently and there is no specified requirement of percentage B tech undergraduate course. GATE exam is open for all willing candidates who have passed out in science stream.
Good luck
Hello Sree hari,
Well, a trivial question to answer. Generally a column exists in your application to specify your percentages in all the classes (Graduation, +2, 10th etC). If the applications are directly filtered according to the criterion of minimum %age one may not get through for further evaluation. If not he/she is fortunate.
Every job now a days requires a minimum of 60%–65% score in graduation.
My friend got through around 53% in his SSC, aroubd 62% in Diploma, and around 71% odd in UG and 9.1 CGPA in PG. So I feel he is fortunate enough as they did not consider his SSC marks while recruiting. Wish the same happens with those who do not have 60% in graduation.

Hello Shri Hari,it is a good news that you are eligible for the GATE exam. You can write GATE exam and if you get good percentile,PSUs may call you for job offer but in case you want to get higher studies, then you have to see the eligibilty criteria for that college. For example ,in case you want an admission in IITs,then you have score like 6.5 CGPA.
I hope i cleared your doubt.
