Hi Abhijit,

As per the official CAT sources, there is no defined syllabus for CAT Exam but as it is an Aptitude examination, Every topic that encompasses the aptitude test is relevant with respect to the examination.

There are 3 sections:

1.Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension

2. Quantitive Ability

3. Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning

Quantitative Aptitude (QA):

Number System, Geometry, Algebra, Mensuration, Time and Work.

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR):

Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Syllogism, Tables, Graphs, Data Caselets

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC):

Para-jumbles & para-summary, sentence completion, inferences, RC passages based questions.

Question Paper Pattern:

Fact Inference, Judgment, Fill in the blanks, Para Completion, Para Jumble, Sentence Correction, Analogies and Reverse Analogies, Grammar, Verbal Reasoning, Synonyms Antonyms (Vocabulary Based), etc.

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning(DI & LR)

DI-

Bar Graph, Combination of Graphs, Line Graph, Caselet, Data Sufficiency, Pie Chart, Tables, etc.

LR-

Assumptions, Blood Relations, Binary Logic, Constraint-based puzzles, Data Arrangement, Family Tree, Proposition, Statements, Seating Arrangement, Clocks and Calendars, Matching Puzzles, Sets and Syllogism, Venn Diagram, etc.

Quantitative Ability (QA)

Major topics-

Algebra, Arithmetic, Geometry, Higher Maths, Mensuration, Modern Mathematics, Number System, Trigonometry etc.
