Hi,

For a maths student after 12th, some of the best course options having good scope in future include BSc in Mathematics, BTech in Computer Science, BTech in any engineering discipline, BSc in Data Science, Chartered Accountancy (CA), or a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science.

Choosing a course depends on factors like :

  • Personal Interest
  • Career aspirations: What kind of job do you want after graduation?
  • Entrance exams: Some courses may require specific entrance exams like JEE for engineering or CA exams for Chartered Accountancy.

So, you can choose a course depending upon your interest and career aspirants for your further studies that have a good scope in future.

All the best !

Hope this information will help you

If you're a CS and Maths student looking for future-proof courses with excellent scope, consider specializing in fields like Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, or Computational Finance as these heavily leverage your mathematical skills and are in high demand across various industries and currently very popular.

Here are a few specific course options to explore:

B.tech:a student with Computer Science (CS) and Maths in their 12th grade can  pursue a B.Tech degree you can take JEE entrance exam

BSc/MS in Data Science: Analyze large datasets to extract valuable insights for business decision-making.

BSc/MS in Machine Learning: Develop algorithms that learn from data to automate complex tasks.

BSc/MS in Artificial Intelligence: Design intelligent systems that mimic human capabilities like reasoning and problem-solving.

BSc/MS in Cybersecurity: Protect computer systems and networks from cyber threats.

BSc/MS in Computational Finance: Apply mathematical models to financial problems like risk management and portfolio optimization.

Why these fields are promising:

High demand for skilled professionals:

These areas are rapidly evolving and companies are actively seeking experts to leverage data-driven insights.

Diverse career paths:

You can work in various industries like healthcare, finance, e-commerce, tech, and research.

Intellectual challenge:

These fields require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which are well-suited for someone with a strong math background.

Important considerations when choosing a course:

Your interests: Do you prefer working with large datasets, designing complex algorithms, or focusing on security aspects?

Skillset development: Focus on acquiring necessary programming languages like Python, R, and relevant libraries.

Industry trends: Stay updated on emerging technologies within your chosen field.

There are few good institutes like IISER and IMSc which i believe give a good treatment for developing good career in maths.
