There are multiple options available which you can explore. As you are doing your graduation in BDS you can easily become a general dentist. You can join a government or private hospital and can earn a decent amount of salary. Or you can open your clinics and earn. If you don’t want to become a traditional dentist then also you have plenty of other option where you can build your career such as

• Specialist:- The obvious option is you can do post-graduation or MDS after completing your BDS degree. You can do an MDS degree in any branch which you like. The future of MDS degree holder is very bright

• Lecturer or teaching staff:- You can join any reputed dental college as a lecturer or tutor with a BDS degree but the salary will be minimal. To become a senior lecturer you need to have an MDS degree. The salary of a senior lecturer depends on where you are working. Whether you are working in a private college or governmental institution. But this job has a good career growth and good income. Along with being a lecturer, you can open your clinic

• Join the Indian Army, Air force & Navy :- With a BDS degree you can join the Indian Army, Air force, and Navy as a Short Service Commissioned officer. In this job, you can get a good amount of salary with other privileges

• Try for UPSC:- Any graduate can apply for UPSC exams. But you have to prepare yourself for this exam. Here you will get a good salary with a lot of respect and recognition. There are several posts available under UPSC such as IAS, IFS, IPS, and many more. According to your score, you will get appointed in any of these posts. And you will get the salary and other benefits based on your position and rank. You can avail other facilities such as the government will provide you quarters to stay, medical facility and personal vehicle with a driver and many more

• Hospital Management:- You can do a master's in Hospital management after completing the BDS degree. This course is very much in demand now. And it can help you to get into the hospital Management fields

• Researcher: - Any BDS graduate can join a research institute and can do a Master's course in Public Health to avail better benefits and to acquire more opportunities as a researcher. After completing your MDS degree also you can become a researcher

• Jobs available Abroad:- With some experience you can apply for jobs Abroad. But before applying please do check the eligibility criteria of different countries if you are qualifying all these criteria then you have to clear the Dental Board or the Ministry of Health examination of the concerned state to get the license to practice Abroad

• Open your Dental clinic:- To open your clinic you need to gain some experience to earn more from it

• Masters in Public health:- If you want to get settled in western countries this is the perfect option for you to explore. Many candidates who are planning to shift to western countries are opting to do an MPH or MBA. A fresher with a degree of MPH or MBA can earn a minimum of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000

• YouTuber & Blogger: - You can become a dental YouTuber or blogger. Here you can share your knowledge, details, and experience and can earn money and fame. There are many benefits of choosing this job such as there is no schedule, work from home option is available, unlimited earning opportunity with lots of name, fame & money

I would first of all want to tell you that it is okay for all of us to make some wrong choices sometimes in life, what matters is that we work hard to resurrect them.  You need not necessarily pursue MDS post your BDS, and may consider some other options, few of them being:

1. Psychology : If you are interested in studying human experiences and behaviour, and then pursuing a Career as a Counsellor/ Therapist, you may consider doing a Master's in Psychology. Some Universities you may consider are Delhi University, Ambedkar University, Delhi, Amity University, Gautam Buddha University, and so on.

2. Law: Pursuing a 3- year LLB, and then practicing as a Civil/ Criminal/ Cyber/ Corporate Lawyer might be one of the prospective options for you. Some of the  Universities offering 3- year Law are Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, OP Jindal University, Sonepat, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, etc.

3. MBA in Hospital Administration/ Public Health: These are popular options amongst graduates in allied Medicine. While a person with a Master's in Hospital Administration would like primarily with Hospitals, those with a Master's in Public Health might work in Hospitals, Research Institutes, NGO's and so on. You may consider Universities like IIHMR, Jaipur; Indian Institute of Public Health, Gandhinagar, etc.

4. Nutrition and Dietetics: With a background in the Medical Sciences, one option you may consider after BDS is a Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics. With people increasingly becoming health conscious, and instances of ailments also rising, this career has a bright future in terms of demand and return on investment. Some Universities to look at can be Delhi University, Chandigarh University, etc.

If you have inclination towards teaching, then you can try for lectureship, though in  majority of colleges mds degree is requiresd, you can also go for MPH which is master of public health, you can do mba in hospitali management that's another area which hold good scope in terms of managerial opportunties, you can open your own clinic, you can appear for various government exams if you want to such as UPSC, state PSCs, banking, insurance, railway, SSc etc, most of the recruitment under these organizations only seek graduates from a recognized university, of course there are posts pertaining to your specific domain as well,
