Hello,

Yes, basic maths in class 10th covers all the mathematics that is enough if you are opting for commerce. Commerce in class 11th doesn’t require any in depth knowledge of maths. Hence, basic maths covers all the knowledge that you need for commerce subjects such as accountancy

Yes, if you take Basic Mathematics in Class 10, you can still opt for Commerce in Class 11. Basic Maths is designed for students who want to focus on non-technical streams, and it allows you to pursue Commerce subjects such as Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, and others.

However, keep in mind that Commerce involves some amount of numerical and logical thinking, especially in subjects like Accountancy and Economics, so having a solid foundation in Basic Maths will be helpful but may not cover the level of complexity required in some areas of Commerce. If you feel comfortable with Basic Maths and are willing to learn and adapt, it should be sufficient for your studies in Commerce at the school level

Hello,

Yes, you can opt for Commerce in Class 11 if you take Basic Maths in Class 10. Here are the key points:

  1. Eligibility : Basic Maths in Class 10 is sufficient to choose Commerce in Class 11.
  2. Mathematics in Commerce : Basic Maths covers fundamental concepts, but advanced topics like Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies are the focus in Commerce.
  3. Maths Requirement : If you want to pursue subjects like Mathematics or Statistics at a higher level in Commerce, you may need to opt for Standard Maths in Class 10.
  4. Career Flexibility : Basic Maths allows you to explore a variety of career options in Commerce.

Hope it helps !

Yes, you can opt for Commerce in Class 11 even if you take Basic Mathematics in Class 10. Most schools and boards allow students with Basic Mathematics to choose the Commerce stream. However, keep these points in mind:

1. Subjects in Commerce: Commerce involves subjects like Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, and sometimes Mathematics. If your school requires Mathematics as a mandatory subject in Commerce, they might expect you to have Standard Mathematics in Class 10.

2. Basic vs. Standard Maths: Basic Mathematics is sufficient for general commerce studies but might pose challenges if you plan to take advanced courses like Economics or Finance in the future, as they require a strong foundation in mathematics.

3. Future Prospects: If you plan to pursue professional courses like CA (Chartered Accountancy), CS (Company Secretary), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), Basic Mathematics won’t be a barrier as these courses start from scratch in terms of mathematical requirements.

It's advisable to consult with your school counselor to confirm the eligibility criteria and make an informed decision based on your career goals.

Hello there,

Yes, you can opt for commerce in class 11 even if you take basic mathematics in class 10. Basic Mathematics is sufficient for most commerce-related subjects, as the commerce stream typically focuses on concepts like economics, accountancy, and business studies, which do not require advanced mathematical knowledge.

However, if you plan to pursue courses like CA (Chartered Accountancy), Economics Honours, or professional finance-related courses later, a stronger foundation in mathematics may be helpful. If your school or institution allows, you can switch to standard mathematics in class 11 if required. Always check the specific requirements of your chosen school or course for clarity.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Yes, you can take commerce stream with maths in class 11th if you have studied basic maths in class 10th. Usually, basic maths is for the students, who don't want to study higher maths and wish to study PCB or other non maths stream. The CBSE has relaxed the rules to allow students who took basic maths in class 10th to choose maths in class 11th.

Hello,

Yes, if a student takes Basic Maths at Class 10, one can still opt for Commerce stream in Class 11. Basic Maths is specially designed for those students who do not want to pursue advanced mathematics up to higher studies, though it does not restrict the choice of subjects you can take in Class 11.

Commerce focuses on key subjects, including Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, and Mathematics or Informatics Practices. Mathematics is not strictly compulsory for most commerce-related subjects; indeed, it is rarely essential for courses like B.Com (Hons) or CA if one doesn't plan to pursue higher-level math courses.

If you are comfortable with Basic Maths, you will do just fine in Commerce without any trouble. Percentages, profit-loss, and statistics are all you need to know for Accountancy and Economics.

However, if you plan to sit for competitive exams or go into careers that require a good grasp of math (such as finance or management), you would do better with Standard Maths.
